It's very simple. We plant an orange tree for you and take care of it.

Where will it grow? It will grow in our orchard located in a small village called Bétera, the Heart of Valencia.

You will get the following:

• In your first year adopting your tree you will get 54kg of Valencian oranges straight from your tree for just 54€/year!

• In your second year adopting your tree you will get 60kg of Valencian oranges straight from your tree for just 54€/year!

How will I receive my oranges?

You can choose different delivery sizes, 6, 10, 12, 15, or 18 kg. You will only have to pay the shipping fees. They will be delivered directly to your home!

CAN I VISIT MY TREE AND COLLECT THE ORANGES BY MYSELF?

Yes, indeed. You can visit our orchard and collect the oranges directly from your tree. We will only charge preparation and packing fees:

Frequently asked questions about Adopting an orange tree

How old are the orange trees that get Adopted?

Adopted orange trees are small and between 1 and 3 years old. Only a few orange trees are going to be used for the Adoption program.

Will I be able to Adopt an orange tree in a few months time?

We are only going to allocate a small number of orange trees to Adopt. Once they all get Adopted, we will decide how many more trees can be Adopted. We want it to be a personalized experience.

How many oranges does my orange tree produce and how much do I have to pay to  Adopt an orange tree?

You will get 54 kg of oranges per Adopted tree for only 54€/ year the first year. From the second year onwards, you will get 6 extra kg for free, 60 kg of oranges for the same price as the first year.

Can I share my oranges with my family and friends?

Yes! You can send them to whoever you want. You can share the oranges from your tree with your family and friends. You just have to send us the address and we will deliver the oranges.

When can I visit my orange tree?

You can visit your orange tree whenever you want by giving a few days notice and enjoy a walk among orange trees. If you come at harvest time you can pick the oranges directly from your orange tree. You can check out first-hand that your tree receives the best possible care. We will teach you how to cut oranges so that you can do it yourself and we will explain how your tree receives care. You can spend a day outdoors in contact with nature and your orange tree.

What if I get too many oranges and can´t eat them all in one year?

Don´t worry.  If you don´t have time to eat them all, the remaining deliveries will pass on to the next year.

Will I receive oranges from the very beginning or do I have to wait for my tree to grow?

You will receive oranges from older trees until your tree starts to produce oranges. These trees are trees from the same field that receive the exact same treatment as the tree that you Adopt.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes, you can cancel at any time with no extra cost.

How long does an orange tree live?

An orange tree can live for 30 years or more. Therefore, you will be able to Adopt an orange tree and enjoy the oranges it produces for many years. Nevertheless, every year you can decide if you want to maintain the bond with your tree and continue with the Adoption program. We want to enable people to create a bond between their food, the environment, and the earth. A bond formed via a tree and its roots.

Do I have any benefits if I remain in the program for a long time?

We will reward your loyalty with 6 kg of extra oranges from the second year onwards. Our goal is to maintain the connection between your orange tree, its roots, and you for as long as possible. In your second year being part of the program, we will deliver you an additional 6 kg of oranges. That is, you can consume 60 kg of oranges per year from the second year onwards.

Can the cost of Adopting an orange tree vary over time?

The costs of Adopting a tree and becoming a 3.0 farmer depend on the cost of care of the tree. These costs and those of delivery (shipping), may vary annually because they depend on external factors. The prices shown are for 2019/2020 (start in October 2019 and end of harvest in June 2020) season. It is very rare for these prices to vary, they will probably be maintained or increase in a very small amount over a long period of time.

How much CO2 does an orange tree consume?

By becoming a crow rooter and Adopting an orange tree, you help absorb 50 kg of CO2 per year. CO2 is the main responsible for climate change and global warming. Defend a sustainable world.

What variety (Species) of orange tree will be the one I Adopt?

The newly planted orange trees are of the Navel Barnfield, Navel Chislett, and Valencia Midknight varieties.

Can I ask for a different variety of oranges year?

If you prefer, the 60 kg of oranges can be chosen from other varieties of orange depending on the time of year. Navelina, Navel, Navel Lane Late, Navel Barnfield, Navel Chislett, and Valencia Midknight are the different varieties available for order. We can deliver oranges from October to June.

Can I Adopt an orange tree and gift it to someone?

An Adopted orange tree is a perfect gift for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas presents or even for a wedding. You only have to contact us and we will send you the Adoption certificate and the information brochure so that you can hand-deliver it. We will deliver the orange harvest to its lucky recipient.
